10th anniversary campaign hitting socials. It’s all about throwback vibes to those early days, but with a cheeky, fun twist - sharing the brand’s origin stories like you fave nostalgia playlist, only fresher.
For DiHavana’s 10th anniversary, we went full time-warp mode with Habana 2099 — a digital art contest and mini-expo reimagining the future of Havana using the visual soul of its past. The whole design strategy was built around found imagery from “la vieja Habana”, remixing historical black-and-white photos with 1950s sci-fi illustrations to create a retro-future aesthetic that hit nostalgia and speculation at the same time.
The palette stayed almost entirely B&W, on purpose — leaning into that vintage documentary vibe — but with sharp pops of color in the typography and micro-details to cue the “future glitch” twist. Think old Cuba newsprint meets atomic-age pulp covers. That contrast became the core of the brand system.
From a marketing perspective, the project positioned DiHavana as a studio that understands its cultural roots while tapping into Gen Z’s love for remix culture, speculative design, and high-contrast storytelling. The campaign drove strong community engagement through open submissions, jury + popularity voting, and an in-studio exhibit where selected works were printed on acrylic for maximum visual impact.
Habana 2099 wasn’t just an anniversary celebration — it turned DiHavana’s decade mark into a future-facing creative statement, merging heritage, design history, and playful sci-fi optimism into one tight visual experience.
